Looking for hospitality benches that offer plenty of seating without making your venue feel crowded? Leta Meubelen designs and produces wall benches, freestanding benches and sofas for restaurants, cafés, hotels and lobbies in its own made-to-measure workshop.
First decide on the role of the bench: a long wall bench along the façade, a freestanding bench as a room divider or a comfortable sofa in the lounge. Then match the shape, fabric, colour and finish to your interior. Every bench is made to measure.
Hospitality benches are seating for several people, built for intensive commercial use in restaurants, cafés, hotels and lobbies. The right choice depends on three questions: how many guests do you want to seat, how long will they stay, and what atmosphere do you want to create?
A bench makes more efficient use of the space along walls and windows than individual chairs. Guests slide in and out easily, there is less chair-shifting and walkways stay clear. What is more, a continuous bench brings calm to the interior: one clean line instead of a row of separate chairs.
There are three main types within this collection. Hospitality wall benches stand against a wall or window and are usually combined with individual chairs on the opposite side of the table. Freestanding hospitality benches can also be placed back to back, as a room divider or as booth seating in an alcove.
Sofas are deeper and softer, and belong in lounges, hotel lobbies and waiting areas. For fixed table layouts, take a look at our wall benches and bench seating; for lounge areas, see our hospitality sofas.
A hospitality bench in a restaurant calls for an upright seating position at table height, whereas a sofa in a lobby invites guests to lean back. So decide on the use first, and only then on the model.
No two spaces are the same, which is why Leta makes hospitality benches to measure. You decide on the length and shape, for example straight, L-shaped or U-shaped, and choose the fabric, colour, material and the finish of the backrest and base.
Models such as UJUPA WOOD, with a wooden finish, or ZENDAYA SOFA for a softer lounge corner serve as a starting point. Virtually every detail can be adapted to your house style or to your interior designer’s concept.
The backrest also defines the character. A high back offers shelter and privacy in a busy restaurant, while a low back keeps the room open and easy to take in at a glance.
Go through these five points before you have a design drawn up:
Having these points clear in advance means you receive a suitable proposal sooner and avoid alterations later on.
A bench only works well with the right table. Pay attention to the ratio between seat height and table height, and to sufficient legroom under the top. A base with a single central pedestal makes sliding in and out along a wall bench much easier.
Among our hospitality tables you will find tops in wood, marble, terrazzo and other materials that you can coordinate with the upholstery. Do you also have a terrace? With terrace benches in a similar style, the outdoor space ties in with the interior.
In a restaurant, hospitality benches along the wall add covers and create a calm dining room. In a café, robust benches with simple upholstery work well, as guests come and go frequently. Hotels often opt for soft sofas in the lobby and wall benches in the breakfast restaurant.
Need inspiration? Our projects for restaurants show how benches, chairs and tables come together to form a single dining room.
Leta Meubelen produces hospitality benches in its own 60,000 m² production facility. Nothing leaves the factory without a quality check, and you have one dedicated contact person throughout the entire project. Once the design is clear, the lead time is 10–12 weeks.
At our showroom in Eindhoven you can feel fabrics and try out models by appointment; interior designers also present their concepts to clients there. Browse our completed projects, such as VAN DER VALK HOTEL BREDA, or ask for advice for your venue.
A hospitality wall bench stands against a wall and is designed for eating or drinking at a table, in an upright seating position. A sofa is deeper and softer and is made for relaxing, for example in a lounge or hotel lobby.
Yes. Leta makes hospitality benches entirely to measure: length, shape, fabric, colour, material and finish are all tailored to your space. Production takes place in our own production facility, and the lead time is 10–12 weeks once the design is clear.
That depends on the wall length, the tables and the walkways. In addition to the seat depth of the bench, allow for legroom under the table and a clear passage for staff. Leta will help you plan the layout based on your floor plan.
Yes. In a small dining room in particular, benches along the wall often provide more seats than individual chairs, because less space is needed to push chairs back. A low backrest also keeps the space open and light.
Choose an upholstery fabric designed for commercial use that suits how busy your venue is. In a busy café, ease of maintenance matters more; in a hotel lobby, appearance carries more weight. In the showroom you can feel and compare fabrics.
